D-Pow Wuz Here

A tribute to D-Pow

Here we go again, spitting some tight rhymes
These the worst of times, the best of times
I’m a better actor than Mel Gibson in Signs
And I sell more tracks than Whitney does lines.

This be the classic track of the year
I just want to be loud and clear
Like they say, don’t show no fear
He’s gots your back, D Pow wuz here

LFO was my mentor, they showed me the ropes
While other crackas tie nooses, I make rhymes so dope
Got Gazoo on my tracks again, drafting the hottest beatz
Got Sooey on the hook again, bringing it to the streets

I gots to get these rhymes off my mind
With lines like this, make you press rewind
With beats like this, find an ass to grind
Hotter than all Kardashian sisters combined.

Let me be clear, you want no beef with me
Clock you upside your head, see stars for weeks
Let’s finish this track now and here
So I can go back to downing a beer
When they ask what track had the biggest premiere
Remember to say it proud, D-Pow Wuz Here!

How to Cut Long Hair – For Men

Avoid stylists in hair salons, to save your money and get your hair cut exactly the length you want. Do it yourself! You will need: tape, marker pen, a comb, sharp scissors with long blades, mirror and a trash basket.

Who knows what they will do at a barber shop? You may get a different stylist each time and you never know if they’ll trim your hair the way you want or the way THEY think is “in style”. Take control of the situation and you never have to worry. The video explains the specific technique used to trim my own long hair without depending on anyone else.

One thing I like about this method is that when your hair is tied up in back, the last 2-3 inches of the ponytail will have a “layered” look. If you just have a friend cut the ends horizontally while your hair is laying on your back, the ends will all be the same length and it won’t look as natural.

Cheap Tripod for iPod Touch

The cheapo tripod that I ordered through eBay finally arrived on the slow boat from China. It was first mentioned in the ecommerce video.

In this video the tripod gets unboxed and examined for its usefulness in recording video. The tripod seems to have been made for camera phones, but works equally well with an iPod Touch.

UPDATE: I found the same tripod for sale on Amazon, with a different brand name. Looks like the same thing though, so click on that link if you want to get one.

Yankee Ingenuity meets Tree Garbage

What’s the best way to get something out of a tree branch? This may not be the best way, but seemed like a good idea at the time. Some styrofoam wrapping material was stuck in this tree for more than six months. Today I decided to do something about it, using the tools at hand. The tools included a rusty garden rake, a roll of packing tape, and the pole from a roof shovel.

Make a high-protein breakfast dish in under 5 minutes! From a website for graduate students trying to survive on very little money, this is a recipe for peanut butter danish with only three ingredients. The recipe appeals to my minimalist side, because after cooking the dough is supposed to become both the sweet bread-like danish AND the creamy filling. This is my first attempt at cooking like this, so watch the video and see how it turns out.

1/3 cup peanut butter
1 egg
1 tbsp sugar or honey

Put peanutbutter in small bowl and microwave 10 seconds to warm it up. Beat in the egg and sweetener with a fork. When it looks like dough, scrape into a blob with rubber spatula. Microwave for 1.5 minutes or 90 seconds.

A big wind storm last year blew a piece of styrofoam packing material up into the tree over the driveway. It has been stuck there for more than six months, even through the wind, snow, and ice of last winter. I want to get it down somehow to throw it away, but am not sure how to reach it without injuring myself in the process. What would you do?
